During June 2002 our practice submitted an expression of interest to the Coega Development Corporation (Pty) Ltd (CDC) for a proposed feature bridge for the Coega River. Six different professional practices were included in our team, i.e. Ourselves as the Project Managers, an Architect, a practice of Conuslting Engineers from Netherlands who specialise in complex bridges, a specialist consultant from the Netherlands who specialises in cable stayed bridges, a local practice of Consulting Engineers who specialise in bridge construction, and a local practice of Consulting Civil Engineers.
The intention was to relocate the N2 closer to the beach front from the Markman Interchange northwards, and construct the feature bridge over the harbour. A design we favoured was that of the Erasmusbridge (Het Zwaan) in Rotterdam (Netherlands). We had incorporated the same consulting practices that had designed "Het Zwaan" in our team for the proposed bridge.

During 2000 the Coega Development Corporation Pty Ltd (CDC) appointed our practice in Association as subconsultants to Arup Ltd. We acted as Technical Advisors to the CDC in Project Managing the eleven different professional disciplines that were appointed to prepare Design Reports for the proposed IDZ. These were Water Reticulation, Sewer Reticulation, Roads and Stormwater, Railways, Bulk Materials Handling, Bridges (minor), Bridges (major) and interchanges, Urban Planning, Architecture and Landscaping, Electrical Reticulation and Telecommunications Management that all had to be coordinated to ensure that the common goal was achieved effectively.
