Wendy Schoeman

Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, Wendy joined our company initially in 1994 and was involved in the running of the office. She left for a period of 4 years only to join us again in 2006. Her duties are mainly bookkeeping, creditors, payroll, skills development and being a Personal Assistant to the Director as well as maintaining the website. She has also been on various courses for Bookkeeping , Payroll, Service Excellence etc.

Ivo Huisman Pr Eng Pr CPM

Raised in Port Elizabeth, Ivo graduated from Stellenbosch University in 1978. Thereafter he joined  Ove Arup Incorporated Consulting Engineers and became a member of their structural team. In January 1982, having been transferred to Arup’s London office, he was placed in a multi-disciplinary group which specialised in the design of theatres and cultural centres. On his return to RSA in January 1983 he joined Tiber Bonvec (Pty) Ltd, a construction company, in Johannesburg where Ivo was contracts manager for large industrial as well as commercial high rise buildings. In May 1984 he accepted an appointment as Design Office Manager for Messrs Reinforcing Design and Supply (Pty) Limited (a part of the Steeledale Group) in Port Elizabeth.

In April 1988 he established his own practice, and since has been operating as consulting engineer on a number of vastly diverse projects. Ivo Huisman has been on the branch executive of the South African Association of Consulting Engineers for six years, and was Branch Chairman in the Eastern Cape.

Kobus Vosloo B Tech (Civil)

Born in Humansdorp and raised in Despatch, Kobus graduated from NMMM University in 2001 with

a Degree as Civil Engineering Technologist. From 1996 until 2001 he studied full time and part time. He was employed by Ivo Huisman & Associates from 1999 until 2004 as a Civil Technician/Technologist. In 2004 he decided to further his work experience overseas by working for Camden Consultancy Service in London, England as a Highways Engineer for a year and then another year at Colin Buchanan, also as a Highways Engineer. There he gained extensive experience in road maintenance and improvement schemes, surveying, site supervision and project management. In 2006 he returned to South Africa and again joined Ivo Huisman & Associates as a Civil Engineering Technologist and Drawing office Manager. At present he is mostly involved with work at Nieu-Bethesda as a Project Manager on projects like Waterborne Sanitation and Treatment works as well as Solid waste disposal site. He was also involved as a Project Manager in the rehabilitation of the Van Riebeeck Hoogte Reservoir roof. The above projects also includes design and drawing work as and when required. He has been actively involved in the design and drawing work for the Dom Pedro Quay Rehabilitation project and is currently supervising the construction work. He is currently registered as a Candidate Civil Engineering Technologist at ECSA.

Civil Technician

Subert Benn

Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, Subert attended PE Technikon and obtained his S1 and S2 in

Civil Engineering. He joined Ivo Huisman & Associates in 1990 as a Civil Technician and was involved in many structural and civil projects. He has extensive experience in projects involving structural repairs to all types of buildings (existing and new) and the rehabilitation of roadways, including services. In 2003 he left our practice and worked for Uhambiso Consult (Pty) Ltd as a Drawing office Manager. There he was involved in many Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Projects.  He assisted the Resident Engineer with projects concering bulk water supply, scheme design of reservoirs, land surveying, bulk earthworks, civil and structural designing and design of roads and stormwater. In 2006 he returned to Ivo Huisman & Associates cc as a Civil Technician, here he has continued to assist the Resident Engineer with civil and structural designs on various projects.

Candidate Civil Technician

Vikesh Rampersath Ndip (Civil)

Born in Pietermaritzburg and raised in Port Elizabeth, Vikesh attended PE Technikon and obtained his Ndip in Civil Engineering. In 2001 he was employed by Ninham Shand PE as a Student Engineer whilst studying part time. He assisted in surveying, draughting, administration and was a Engineers representative on small contracts. In 2002 he worked for V Moller Construction until 2007 as a general assistant and site agent. There he gained experience in site supervision (labour intensive). In 2007 he started at our practice as a Civil Technician and is currently gaining civil and structural experience in various projects.

Receptionist

Thandi Bam

Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, Thandi join our Company in 2005, she is our face and voice of the Company. She is involved with the general administration of the office, her duties: Typing, sorting files or filling and keeping our debtors up to date. She has been on numerous courses, workshops such as Frontline Communication, Receptionist, Computer Literacy and Service Excellence.
